The best developers are the ones who are impatient about their workflows. They build or find tools that make their development process shorter.
I remember hearing a talk one time where a developer expressed frustration at having to type two keystrokes instead of one for a common command. He made the point that over the course of dozens of times making that keystroke over hundreds of days in a year times decades of programming he saved himself hours of work by reducing or eliminating common tasks.
