This applies in so many places in life, not just in software, so it’s a great lesson to teach. Yeah, asking people to pay is uncomfortable and you’ll get some people who say “no” or “how dare you ask for money!”

There are a couple lessons you learn when you ask for money though:

1. Good things come to those who ask for good things and are willing to have uncomfortable conversations.
2. Everything cool in life is on the other side of fear. Having a high fear tolerance (not being immune to fear, but being able to do stuff in spite of fear) is how you live an awesome life.
